Partner 16: STAB VIDA, Lda [STAB VIDA], Oeiras, Portugal Scientist responsible: Orfeu Flores
STAB VIDA, Lda is a start-up company created 2001 locaed in Lisbon, Portugal, with the intent to develop genetics and genomics products and services in EU. We focus our business in the areas of molecular diagnostics and biomedicine. Genetic testing, genotyping, genome sequencing, point-of-care diagnostics, pathogenic yeast identification are our main R&D lines as well as the start point for servicing the more than 2000 clients that use our laboratories on a daily basis. STAB VIDA is well recognized for its innovative and expert team in life sciences. Morover, R&D Lab sited in the Oeiras Biotechnology Campus, neighbouring three biotech institutes, Institute of Biology and Technological Engineering (IBET), Institute of Biochemical and Chemical Technology (ITQB), belonging to the New University of Lisbon and Gulbenkian Institute of Science (IGC). This is a higly skilled and focused campus in life sciences, with a community of more than 300 PhDs, where STAB VIDA is fully integrated and partnering with many research groups. Within the R&D Lab, a STAB VIDA team of researchers (3 PhDs, 1 MSc and 3 Lab Technicians) will be involved.
As a research company we are interested to embrace projects with Institutes, Universities or other companies for the exchange of knowledge and resources for the development of new emergent technologies in the healthcare area. Dr. Orfeu Flores, Prof. Pedro Baptista, Prof. Claudina Pousada, Dr. João Inácio Gonçalo Doria, Fabio Carlos and Hugo Pereira, performing research in: 1) Developing new genetic technologies for the diagnostic of emergent diseases; 2) Developing antibodies for POC diagnostics 3) Establishing point-of-care diagnosis tests
